A short introduction to Bluestone Clay.

Read on below to learn why clay is beneficial and more detail as to what is Bluestone Clay.

WHY CLAY?

You may be wondering, "Why would I want to buy clay?", so we're here to explain.

Our raw clays are montmorillonite clay, a type of volcanic ash clay. They contain many different trace minerals as well as green gemstones and quartz crystal.

When mixed with water, montmorillonite clay gains a strong negative charge. This causes the clay to act like a magnet. Then, when applied to your skin, positively charged molecules in your body - such as toxins, grease, and bacteria - are adsorbed by the clay. As the saying goes, opposites attract, and the clay pulls toxins out of your body, detoxifying and cleansing your skin.

In addition, your skin absorbs the trace minerals found in montmorillonite clay - such as iron, zinc, and manganese - providing nutrients to the body. Many of these trace minerals are known to be essential to benefit your diet and health, resulting in our clay acting like a natural multi-vitamin!

This adsorption and absorption process from the clay also helps with anti-inflammation and anti-aging, supporting your skin health.

So, there you have it, that’s why you would want to buy clay from Bluestone Clay.

Out with the bad, in with the good, and enjoy pampering yourself in the process!

WHAT IS BLUESTONE CLAY?

Bluestone Clay is one of a kind. What makes Bluestone Clay products so special is how our different clays are formed. Location, history, and water all play a role.

The formation is simple, but creates a unique particle makeup of both the gemstone clay and the solstice clay; created from giant cracks in the earth. The gemstone clay from a shear zone in the volcano and the yellow and blue solstice clay from a seam between two different rock formations and deposited into the river that flows from the gemstone clay - the mountain source.

All the faults and cracks have water flowing through them and this water has pushed the clay to the surface, making these clays unique to this deposit.

Location and history also play a part in how unique Bluestone Clay is. The location of the volcano is in the heart of Bamfield, which has a stunning, rich, and lush landscape - land and sea. The village of Bamfield also has a long history, and there is evidence of mining these clay deposits for multiple benefits for many, many years.
